First hike of the year (2019)

A good start to the warmer months of outdoor activities. Today myself and a pal hiked Hen and Cock mountain in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. We had intended to fit Pigeon mountain in too, but a low flying cloud engulfed us and stripped visibility to zero, unfortunately.

We did the sensible thing and took to lower ground, which led us back towards an old, slate-carving river, and ultimately back to the car.

I shot a lot of photos with the Nikon in-hand, which I will post in a few days.

Additionally, last weekend myself and my SO headed out in our campervan for the first time this year that will have a separate write-up when I get around to developing the film.

Superior Organisational Potential

I have always obsessed over backpack functionality and organisation. It’s beneficial to have everything you need/desire when hiking, exploring or even if just going for a walk in the local woods, or on top of the hills for a cup of tea.

More Camera Gear

My local setup is a Trek bag from Lowepro, which enables me to carry more camera gear than before, and still have additional space for supplies and essentials.

Perfect for carrying multiple cameras, safety equipment and even has space for a bluetooth speaker so can hike with audio (it’s going to be blasting Sublime today as it’s sunny outside).

Dynamics of Reality

Scholars and Philosophers from the ancient epoch to the contemporary period have tried to understand human thought in relation to where we reside without satisfying results – it never will be understood, but it’s a constant underlying process in everyone’s mind.

Dream a Friend had.

A friend for many years, almost a third of my life at this point, often we discuss the meaning of life, philisophy and creative thinking, over the years sharing of surreal and strange dreams has become a thing also.

The following is a direct copy and paste of his dream summary.

To Quote:

“I was trying to get a haircut and I was driving my bicycle to the hair dressers. It was like a polish run down town all words were a foreign language. I got to the hair dressers it was in a public toilet where on one side people were pissing and on the other 2 chairs with people getting haircuts. and they were full so they gave me an address to another location. So off I went and it was a tiny ticket/security booth with a barber chair in it but beyond it was a huge area filled with diggers and cranes and jcbs lying on their sides.
Out of my own mouth I said “oh they must be sleeping” and the owner next to me was jut like yeah they’ve worked hard today.
Then I tried to get my haircut and the dude said I could only get one if I married his daughter. I agreed and i married his daughter (who was hot as shit) and then slowly and weirdly I never noticed in the dream but only when I woke up but the daughter I married slowly turned into a jcb digger

I remember being in a party introducing the digger as my wife.
Don’t think I ever did get the haircut.

There was something else in between the toilet barbers and marrying the jcb but I just can’t remember it”

Off the radar

Its been a while since I lasted shared thoughts here, almost a year actually.

Nothing major to mention, although a lot has changed. I still however am exploring the outdoors, loving life, facing challenges and aspiring to conquer more – even if good nature is as far as it goes, and a life without condition.

Was hiking a few weeks ago and found a hidden trail section in the woods, it has inspired me to ride my MTB again, here’s to better weather!

Shot with my Nikon F, using Kodak Tri-X 400 asa & 50mm F2 lense.

Hopefully, i will be posting more often.
